Citizens Area Transit
The fare is $1.25. Have exact change, dollar bills or coins, as buses are not set up to make change. CAT coins, passes, and transfers are available. Note that transfers are free to complete a one-way trip within 120 minutes. Transfers are issued upon request at the time a fare is paid. You can buy CAT passes and coins online (www.catride.com), at the Downtown Transportation Center, and other pass outlets (call 228-7433). The Downtown Transportation Center is located at 300 N. Casino Center Blvd and is the major point for many CAT routes. The Strip is now serviced by The Deuce, a double-decker bus imported from England. Fifty such buses (about $600,000 each) travel from the Downtown Transportation Center to the south end of the Strip (at 6675 Gilespie St), a seventeen-mile loop which averages two hours. Each bus seats 80 people, and has standing room for 17 more. The one-way ride in the air-conditioned (60°F) bus costs $2. Available 24 hours. All CAT buses are accessible to customers using wheelchairs or bicycles. The Paratransit Service is available for those customers who are functionally unable to use the CAT fixed route system. Reservations are taken one to three days in advance, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Call 676-1815 for more information. For CAT information, including lost and found, call 228-7433.
