Boulder City

Boulder City, located 24 miles southeast of Las Vegas, was founded in 1931 as a town for the Hoover Dam construction workers (5,000 people) and was, in its beginnings, under federal control. Today's population is about 15,000.

"The best town by a dam site" is the only place in Nevada where gambling is prohibited.

Attractions in Boulder City include art fairs, Black Canyon raft trips, Hoover Dam and its museum, Colorado River tours, Lake Mead cruises, Nevada State Railroad Depot, skydiving, and golf.
